Make 2019 The Year of Gratitude! by Bonnie Brinkman

January 30, 2019

Research has shown that gratitude is highly correlated with personal happiness. You may have heard the psychobabble term of “confirmation bias” that is backed up by numerous research studies over the years. Confirmation bias means that people will search for and interpret ‘evidence’ to confirm what they already believe. So if you believe everyone is untrustworthy, you will determine that if others do something minor, it will be used as confirmation that they are untrustworthy.

It seems that loving people around us at this time of year can be especially hard. Traditions must be followed, past hurts erupt once more, and a time when magical energy should be everywhere, we struggle to find love for others. Essential oils are also used in a variety of cleaning products we may purchase for use in our homes to add an appealing fragrance to mask many of the harsh chemicals in many common formulations. Did you know that in some over the counter supplements, essential oils may be added to formulas to provide therapeutic benefits which impact health? Many users of these products may not even realize they are ingesting essential oils and don’t realize what a profound effect they can have on their body.

My 9 Safety Nets by Neil Anderson

October 26, 2018

The Enneagram’s scope of possibilities seem to open to us as we loosen our fixations and identifications with the groove of habit we’ve set up. This is an article of faith in the work. However,we may wind up in a place we did not anticipate with much delight, anxiety surprise or even humility. However our introduction to the work occurred, we encounter growth that was not conceivable (or perceivable) before we started the journey home.

Nine Tips For Psychological Growth by Ron Esposito

August 28, 2018

1. Develop A Self-Observation Practice Through a self-observation practice we are better able to witness and notice our habitual ways of thinking, feeling and behaving as well as the underlying motivations. Without self-observing we are operating unconsciously. Self-observing enables us to notice without judgment what is arising in consciousness and make more conscious choices. Self-observation is never habitual. It is a conscious act. Being in the breath as much as possible aids in self-observation and helps loosen egoic fixation, bringing about a more expansive inner state.

MBTI and Enneagram – Their Relationship and Complementary Use by Tom Flautt & John Richards

August 9, 2018

Why do we need another typology system, particularly one built on a system of 9 types? The hypothesis which seems to fit the two systems is that each system measures a different part of our mental apparatus which Jung calls the psyche. MBTI appears to be concerned with the conscious, cognitive part of the psyche, while the Enneagram is focused on unconscious, motivating forces in the depths of the psyche, perhaps associated with its archetypal structure. The two systems come at the psyche in two contrasting ways.

Where am I Moving From? by Neil Anderson

April 30, 2018

It isn’t necessary to delve deeply into metaphysics or deep meditation to notice that we can be self observant. The simple act of taking our mind off the usual circus of scattered, random thoughts, feelings and sensations to focus on a desired area of our body or the flow of impressions we receive makes for subtle but profound changes in our state of mind, and it is in my personal practice of Tai Chi where I’ve come to appreciate this especially, both as an enhancer and reinforcement of the lessons of the Enneagram. This gentle remnant of a Chinese martial art has swelled in popularity worldwide not only as a health enhancer but as meditative tool that quiets the mind, grounds the body and directs the will.

How Each Enneagram Type Can Build Healthy Habits by Melanie Bell & Kacie Berghoef

April 13, 2018

Each Enneagram type has a basic motivation or desire, and our habits are ways we unconsciously try to get our needs met. But it’s all too common for us to form self-talk and behaviors that end up hurting instead of helping us. There’s good news, though: with the right structures and support, all of us have the ability to form long-term habits that help us meet our fullest potential.

The Lifelong Quest For Longevity & Vitality by Ronnie Robertson

March 14, 2018

One of the most frequently asked questions that I receive is “What supplements should I take each day?” I often respond to this by asking the individual what their personal goal is and what they hope to achieve as a result of supplement usage. And what I have experienced over the last twenty plus years of working in the profession of health & wellness that there is a general desire to simply feel better and to have a boost in energy and stamina without the use of stimulants or anything that may stress the already stressed body and mind. As a Wellness Professional I am very selective of what I use for myself in my own daily practice. I do not sacrifice quality to save a few bucks and my health in my number one focused investment. This is what I share with clients and quite honestly anyone who is interested in improving their health and well-being.
